Future of Norrbotten in Focus at Business Day
What conditions are needed for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to grow during the ongoing industrial transformation? This was one of the key questions when Företagarna Norrbotten hosted Business Day under the theme Future of Norrbotten.
The event began with an economic outlook presented by Företagarna’s Chief Economist, Karl Ernlund, who described a cautiously positive outlook for Swedish small businesses after several challenging years. This was followed by discussions on topics such as housing, workforce development, recruitment, and how the value created by Norrbotten’s investments in energy, mining, and industry can contribute to regional growth.
RUFFS attended the event to gain a deeper understanding of the opportunities and challenges facing small and medium-sized enterprises. A recurring theme throughout the day was how companies can access the skills and expertise needed to grow and seize new business opportunities.
The day also featured inspiring examples from businesses and entrepreneurs across the region. Entrepreneur Lisa Hellmér highlighted the importance of bringing together the right people, skills, and resources to turn ambitious ideas into reality. At the same time, AF Rör and Rutqvists Schakt were recognized for their impressive growth journeys and their contributions to the steel and metals industry value chain.
For RUFFS, the event reinforced the importance of continuing to strengthen the skills and competitiveness of companies. Through ongoing dialogue with businesses and other stakeholders, training initiatives can be developed to meet the needs of the region’s industry and support sustainable growth.
