Dialogue on Growth and Skills Development in Boden
How can we create the conditions for both new and established companies to grow during the ongoing industrial transformation? This was one of the key questions when Företagarna Boden brought together business leaders, policymakers, and other stakeholders for a dialogue on growth and the local business climate.
The evening began with a presentation by the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise (Svenskt Näringsliv), highlighting the results of the national Local Business Climate Survey. The findings provided a foundation for the discussions that followed on the conditions for businesses and the future development of Boden.
RUFFS attended the event to gain a deeper understanding of the needs and challenges facing small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the region, particularly in relation to workforce development and skills enhancement.
A clear message from the discussions was that Boden’s growth is not only about accommodating new industrial investments. To ensure long-term benefits from the transformation, existing companies must also be given the opportunity to grow and develop. Participants highlighted skills, workforce availability, investments, land access, housing, and infrastructure as key factors for continued growth.
For RUFFS, the dialogue reinforced the importance of providing training opportunities that strengthen the skills and competitiveness of companies. At the same time, the discussions demonstrated that sustainable growth requires collaboration between businesses, the public sector, and academia.
Are you active in a small or medium-sized company and interested in learning more about how RUFFS can support your business? Feel free to get in touch – we are happy to start a dialogue based on your needs.
