About the project
Skills development for the green steel Industry of tomorrow – with a focus on subcontractors
The Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth (Tillväxtverket) has granted support to this project, which aims to strengthen the skills and competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) within the steel industry's value chain in Norrbotten – with a particular focus on subcontractors.
Through tailored pilot educations, ranging from adult education to university-level courses, companies receive support to meet the demands of the green transition. The trainings are developed in close dialogue with industry and adapted to real needs – to provide practical value and strategic advantage.
The project is based on collaboration between academia, industry, and the public sector, and also includes trade organizations and labor market partners. Special emphasis is placed on ensuring that the efforts contribute to gender equality, inclusion, and long-term sustainable growth in line with Agenda 2030.
