Companies gained increased understanding of hydrogen in industry
On 15 April 2026, the course The Role of Hydrogen in the Steel and Metals Industry was held in Luleå as part of RUFFS. During a full‑day course, small and medium-sized companies gained a clear understanding of what hydrogen means for industry and what new business opportunities may emerge in the coming years.
The course focused on the basics of hydrogen technology, how the industry is transforming, and what roles suppliers and subcontractors can have in the new value chains. The aim was to give participants better insight into current developments and strengthen their ability to take the next step.
The course was led by Rikard Gebart, Professor of Energy Engineering at Luleå University of Technology and active at CH2ESS – Centre for Hydrogen Energy Systems Sweden. The training was held at Arctic Hotel in Luleå and was part of RUFFS’ initiative to strengthen skills development for companies.
